Adding Department to Worker/Project and Worker/Category validation group forms

I'm trying to add the a department field to the grids on these to forms. The hcmWorker table is where the form is being populated from, but it doesn't contain a department field. I'm not totally sure how to make the connection to a table that contains department data or how I use the new datasource within the form.

    Hi Jacobh2,

    Technically, the department field is a field from the HcmPositionDetail table. The method you mentioned returns records with all departments if the worker has multiple position. You can have a look at the method getPrimaryDepartment(). You can use this logic for a new display or edit method.     The HcmWorker table already has a method getDepartments, is there a way to use it for my field?

    Hi Jacobh2,

    It is not possible to move or add the department field using personalization. The controls are build dynamically on the form, based on the dimension setup in the general ledger. If you really need just this field in a grid, you have to do it using a customization. E.g. you can create a display or edit method and link this to a control on the grid.
