Show Followers of a Contact on the form

Posted on by 110

Hi,

I'm interested in using the 'follow' function on the Contact entity for 2 main reasons.

1. The contact can be sync'd with the users Outlook. As I understand, there is a default filter in CRM that sync's contacts if a user 'follows' them.

2. Secondly, I want it so that users can open a contact record, and see who else knows/involved with the Contact. This is where I need some help.

I can't currently figure out if a list of followers can be displayed on the contact form so that everyone can see who follows the contact. Is there a way I can display this list in a sub-grid on the Contact form?

I currently use Connections and an Outlook filter to achieve the same result, however it requires each user to set the Outlook filter in their personal options to enable the sync. As I understand, this cannot be configured globally. Since we will have about 500 users, this is quickly becoming a pain.

Thanks in advance.
