i want to know what is the purpose of State Machines and Mappings in D365FO ?

How to create and use ?

    State machines are used for workflow. For example, check out this old thread: state machines node in table in D3FO.

    Regarding maps, let me quote the documentation (Tables, Views, and Maps):

    A map can unify the access to similar columns and methods that are present in multiple tables. You associate a map field with a field in one or more tables. This enables you to use the same field name to access fields with different names in different tables. Methods on maps enable you to create or modify methods that act on the table fields that the map references.

    By the way, please ask questions about D365FO in D365FO forums, such as Dynamics 365 Finance Finance. Then you won't also need to attach "d365fo" to thread titles.
