    Hi Mibble,

    That's an interesting behaviour :)

I have some questions, that would help me understand your scenario a little better:

-Is CRM 2011 still present on your machine?

-Check if the using running the upgrade has the minimum privileges for CRM setup (blogs.msdn.com/.../minimum-permissions-required-for-dynamics-crm-2011-setup-services-and-components.aspx)

-Can you please confirm if you are using the same config and organization database that failed to upgrade earlier?

The DB schema is bound to change during the upgrade. If an upgrade fails, it is a good idea to restore the back up data base before trying to run the upgrade.

In your scenario, it would save you time to just uninstall CRM completely (technet.microsoft.com/.../hh699749.aspx) and install CRM 2013 afresh.

You can then import the old CRM 2011 organization into the new deployment. This way the organization would be upgraded and ready for use.

If you have any questions, let me know.

PS: Un-installing CRM would remove all your organizational setting like IFD etc.

    Regards,

    Vivek

    Hello,

thank you for replying. I have done just that for installing CRM 2013. Now it stops at the System Checks

    'The Website Does Not Exist'

'Object Reference Not Set To An Instance of An Object'

CRM 2011 is not installed anymore.

    hi,

it took a bit more than that. permissions didn't get set during the install and the computer didn't have access to set them so had to be reset.

spent numerous hours with tech support on the phone. it was supposed to be a 24x7 case however when it came time for him to leave for his shift he saw things were installing and he called the case good. if I needed more help I would have to open  another case.

if it doesn't get back to where it was fully functional  with my data is frustrating.

    uninstall of crm

    remove directory info for crm

    create new ou

gave computer full access to ou

    deleted mscrm_config from sql

deleted old info in active directory relating to crm report, and sql

new install of crm 2013, had to reset a few permissions

    finished install

on importing original data and doing conversion had to modify users.

still working on getting it right the rest of the way.
