Posted on by

Hello everybody,

I use Management Reporter function to create P&L report in AX 2012R3.

But i don't know it excludes transaction which is posted in closing period automatically or not.

Please tell me about that.

Thank you in advance.

    Hi ThuyCao,

If you know the voucher number of those transactions that you want to exclude you can exclude them by making use of the voucher attribute.

Please note that the row modifier form also allows including/excluding specific period transactions by referring to the account modifier field.

Here is an example of the setup feature that might help you:

It might require some testing but you should be able to achieve what you need by appliying this.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Ledwig,

    Thank you for your infomation.

It mean this function doesn't exclude closing transaction automatically?

I know attribute function in Row Modifier, but i want to exclude automatically.

So, i used Opening Transaction function to transfer P&L account, it really exclude.

But when i used Closing sheet to transfer, i saw it didn't exclude.

    Hi ThuyCao,

If you make some adjustments for example through the closing sheet, you would need to define a filter in Management Reporter - for example based on the period/period code, based on attributes, etc. - that allows you excluding those transactions. Management Reporter cannot know that you do not want to have those transactions included :-)

    Best regards,

If you come across something else or require some additional support. Please feel free to continue posting to this thread. Otherwise it would be great if you could verify and close it. Many thanks,

    ThuyCao,

Were you able to exclude a transaction by voucher? I am trying to remove a transaction by journal number and I do not know how to exclude. When I enter a journal on the row modifier it only lists the journal we added to the row modifier.

    Hello Mike,

Have you tried making use of the row modifier?

    Hello Ludwig,

I did use the row modifier. We want to exclude a journal number and what we found is that it filters to include. Is there a way to have the row modifier exclude? What we did was add two rows to the row definition. One with a row modifier to include the journal number and the second is a calc row to subtract the second row from the first. The one issue we have is while the amount is now what we expect we can no longer drill to the details.

    Regards,

    Hello Mike,

I would say that the workaround that you applied is the way to go. The 'price' that you have to pay for this calculation is that you don't have the drill down available.

Before giving up on this one, can you test making applying this workaround at the column definition level by applying an attribute filter in a non-printing column that is then used for calculating your values in a calc column. I am not sure whether this allows the drill down or not but I believe it is worth giving it a try.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi All

I now it is a very old post and I am sure you guys must have found the solution of the problem, however I came across the same problem and found this is the only post for this issue.

I was able to find the solution, to print PNL data for closed period you have to "XAD" in Column Restrictions field of Column definition.

Hope this will help others who will go through this post.

    Regards

    Muhammad Saad
