Changing the 'Description' Column

Hi,

In BC, many pages show the Description column as the 'Order Number'. Is there any way to change this 'Description' so that it's the Invoice Number?

For example, In Payments Registration the column Description is the Order Number.

Can I change the Description column to something else? Ideally change it to the Invoice number, which would be more useful.

Thanks, Ian

Hi northeastman, it looks as though the majority of your invoices are created when the order is posted (when you click ship and invoice) hence why the description displays as the order number. If you look at my screenshot you'll see it's a combination of postings that were created from either an order or an invoice. If you look at my second screenshot you'll also see that - using the personalise option - the only other column we can add onto the payment registration screen is 'External Document Number' which probably won't help you:

If seeing the invoice number is important then you can always create an extension using the in-app designer in your sandbox environment to configure a screen that looks a bit more like the below. If it's something you need help configuring then let me know. Just send me a direct message and we'll see what we can do...

If you think this will be too time consuming then you can always use the navigate facility to drill down into the document details

    Hi Adam,

Thanks for the info it's very helpful. I would like to know how to create an extension using the in-app designer in your sandbox environment to configure a screen. I'll DM you, if I can work out how to. Thanks again.
