    Hi,
What do you mean 'allows for multiple configurations on a kit product'? You can briefly introduce your demands or business background. You can refer to this blog: stoneridgesoftware.com. The article introduces how to create and utilizing product kits.
    Best regards,

    Hi,

I'm trying to figure out if configurations in Dynamics changed over the last couple of months. Previously we had multiple configurations per kit product, but this functionality seems to be different at the moment which caused us to revert to having only one configuration per kit product.

We have items listed with customers and the components are subject to change due to discontinue and/or additional components.  If we needed to make a change to a kit configuration, we would click on edit and make the change and a new configuration would be created and released.  However, when we click on edit now a message comes up saying that we cannot edit the configuration, thus having to create a whole new kit product and relist them which is not the way we did it previously.

Is anyone else experiencing the same issue?

It would be helpful if you clarify what you mean by "kit" because D365 has Retail Kits, which are shown in a response below, and Bundles which are a separate design, and clients usually have nuanced differences on what a "kit" is.

Regarding retail kits that are shown below, you can allow multiple configurations, but people generally find them to be clunky unless you are actually using retail POS.  Bundles use regular active & approved BOM's and then explode the lines out into their components.  You can pair them up with configured boms / a product master at the top level and get multiple configurations for a single item number.
