Trying to setup reporting in GP correctly - SSRS

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hello everyone,

Recently I've went through the process of setting up Sql Reporting Services and I'm trying to get my Reporting tools setup in GP. I have the right Report Server URL and Report Manager URL entered, and I've told GP to deploy all reports for my companies.

However, I went to add reports to my GP homepage, and they come up blank. When i go to View Report, I receive this error message.

Any suggestions?

For your info, I'm running SQL Server 2014, and my Report Server Service Account is a built-in "local system" account. When I try to enter reports from SSRS I receive a similar error message. See below...

    Kimberly & Fritz,

The issue with the error message "SQL Server Reporting Services setup information is not valid" comes actually from the SSRS security which has changed after SQL 2008R2... I ran into the same issue when upgrading to GP 2015 and trying to re-deploy the reports on a new installed SQL 2012 server... I never had issues before and done this several times. I use my domain account that is defined in the 'sysadmin' role on the SQL server security, but starting in SSRS 2012, that doesn't suffice anymore... You need to open the Report Manager screen and go into your site settings >> security and add yourself to the list of authorized users with 'System Administrator' role... That will solve the problem and let you deploy your reports.

    Hi Fritz,

We actually received that same error first. I couldn't figure out how to fix it so I got in touch with Microsoft. Our technician told us to change to a local system, and went on to say we were having some kind of issue with a temporary profile. I wasn't in on the call so i didn't get the full scoop. They had a hard time solving the issue though, i know that!

    Hi Kimberly,

What are the dependencies that were missing? I'm trying do deploy SSRS Reports with GP 2015 using Reporting Services with SQL 2012. I receive the error: SQL Server Reporting Services setup information is not valid, when I try do deploy the services inside GP.

    thank you

Never-mind! I spoke to Microsoft and we figured out what was happening. Somehow some dependencies were messed up.

    Thanks!
