Hello all -
I recently assisted in the migration of a Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 environment to Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013. We are encountering an issue when a user runs a report within Management Reporter and then attempts to save/export the report in Excel format.
In scenario 1 when the user attempts to save/export to Excel, they generate a report to Internet Explorer. Once the report is displayed in IE, they choose "Download"-->"Microsoft Excel" and are prompted with "You may be prompted to disable the pop-up blocker once the report starts to download. You can keep working in Management Reporter while it's downloading. Do you want to continue downloading your report?". The user clicks "Yes" and then they presented with an error of "The website cannot display the page" HTTP 500 with Internet Explorer and the Excel file is not generated.
In scenario 2, the user runs the report and views it within Management Reporter and they click on "Excel" to export the report, and an error is generated with the following message, "Management Report - Variable 0 has a data row value of 1 which was not found in the variableOffsets".
As a workaround, the user is generating a PDF report from Great Plains and then they are exporting the PDF to Excel. We are also able to run the report and save it in XPS format without any issues.
The current software versions of our Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 environment are:
From what I’m reading, it looks like we are on the initial release version of Microsoft Management Reporter 2012 which was probably an oversight during the migration. From the description of the issue above, is this issue fixed in a hot fix for Management Reporter? Is there a patch I need to be on before updating to the latest hot fix for Mangement Reporter? If there is a hot fix that will resolve this issue, would it be a best practice to also update any of the other Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 components in our environment? Thanks.

Babu, when I last tested, it did not matter if the print control was set as noted above, but I will test on reports I know were not working and then I will update this.
Hi
Have you tried my solution.
Hi,
The print control of row format is affecting the export to excel. So if you have print control X0 to supress row if all zeros please remove the same and export to excel work fine with formula on it.
Bill, thanks for the response. Even though this issue seems specific to the report itself, does anyone have any idea if Microsoft is actively looking into this issue? I'm looking for an official response at this point to report back to management and my users. Thanks.
While I know it is not a perfect solution - it is one that works until Microsoft can get the Formula bug figured out.
In the meantime, we are doing this for all our clients that encounter the error.
Something to note - it is not an all or nothing kind of error. We have about 24 reports that will continue to function and export properly even with the Formula button selected, but there are still those that don't work and out of about 100 reports we are only clicking the formula option when they fail.
Hope this helps.
We are currently on Version 2.1.10001.112 which is Microsoft Management Reporter 2012 Cumulative Update 10 - support.microsoft.com/.../3000799. It looks like the latest hotfix is - blogs.msdn.com/.../management-reporter-cu11-hotfix-3-now-available.aspx.
Not sure if there is a fix between versions 10 and 11 hotfix 3 for this issue.
This allowed me to export the report to Excel, thank you. However, I need to see if this is a viable workaround/fix for the user because ideally I think we would want to have the option to export the formulas with the report as well. Is this a known issue with Management Reporter 2012?
Have you tried to export to excel after removing tick export formulas.
