Uncollected FICA

Posted on by 35

An employee paycheck issue:

His health and dental deductions exceeded his gross pay so hit net pay was zero and his taxable pay was zero.

I assume he will have the arrears taken out of next check for what he owes and all is good.

Except he has a taxable benefit of $15.00 which created an uncollected FICA total of $1.15 (0.22 to Medicare and 0.93 to soc sec)

Will this uncollected FICA be automatically collected by the system on his next paycheck?

Any assistance greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the information Leslie, we will give that a try.  If that does not work, do you think maybe doing some sort of adjustment will work?

    Hi,

Why not just run a test payroll, calculate checks and see what happens? You can just remove the build and all will be well. I know this is not the for sure answer you were looking for, but heck, some questions can be answered easily by giving it a try.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie
