Hello All,
I am trying to customize the Home Page of Event Management Portal ,but i am able to find the edit option menu in the home page, but its coming for me for profile page.I had assigned admin role to contact .am i missing anything?or is there any way to customize the home page of Event Management Portal
The vanity URL question came about because when setting up a recent trial, there is now no standard D365 portal installed like there was previously. So no portals option in you apps. No ADX entities in D365. The event piece seems to be hosted in some random hidden place. Is this just a feature of trials now? The documentation seems to suggest it's either a D365 portal or self-host. I would assume if you setup with a portal, then the administration of that portal is the same as other D365 portals.
Does this new approach support Vanity URLs if you don't want to host it on your own site and just want to stick with the MS hosted approach?
Hi everyone,
As explained previously, Event Portal does not require anymore the use of Microsoft Portal. You can deploy (install) marketing portal-less and use your own CMS or website to host the event portal.
I would encourage you to explore the documentation which has continuously improved and explains the steps to be done: docs.microsoft.com/.../portal-hosted

Yes, that is/was my fear.
This is a developer approach, one in which Marketing people are not going to be able to do.
I just don't understand why Microsoft took this approach when the Dynamics Portals are already available, easily editable and do NOT require all these hoops and code to make simple changes.
Hi Mike,
Since release of april 2019 release, portal is optional for event website.
If you want customization on event website, you could download sample website, build and test it on your local development environment,
then deploy it to overwrite the original files on portal.
there is an automatic deployment script in sample folder, it will navigate you to connect to your organization when you execute it:
In addition, we would be happy if you could create a new thread for this topic,
so we could find your question earlier and it will helps others to view this.

Clofly
I have a related problem.
How is the navigation menu edited?
I have edited Microsoft Portals in the past and when I login with a Web Role = Administrator, I get a popup that lets me edit the navigation. Now, nothing at all pops up on this home page and I cannot edit anything at all on this page.
Hi,
You can follow the link docs.microsoft.com/.../reset-portal
