Failed import solution developed in CRM 2016 (8.1) to CRM 365 (8.2)

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi everyone!

So we got an email about the upcoming update to CRM 365 . We developed a solution in our development server with Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2016 (8.1) . So i tried to import it to our other development server with Microsoft Dynamics CRM 365 (8.2).

However i get an error when importing regarding knowledge article.

More specifically this is the error i get :

Entity Relationships knowledgearticle_incidents Failure 0x80048203 A system relationship's delete cascading action cannot be modified.

As far as i know i didn't change anything to the relationship of articles , i actually haven't modified the articles entity.

How can i fix this and how can i know that when our client gets the update for 365 , it won't cause any problems?

Entity Relationships   knowledgearticle_incidents       Failure 0x80048203 A system relationship's delete cascading action cannot be modified.

    Hi,

If you did not modify this relationship, then why you have it in your solution? Simply remove the relationship from the solution and you should be ok. Since CRM 2016 it does not make sense to keep everything in the solution, you should only keep components that you really modified, not every single field, relationship, form, view etc.

I'm wondering if i just upgrade from CRM 2016 to 365 if this will be ok instead of exporting the solution and importing it to a higher version of CRM. Have you tried that?
