Closing Open Sales Orders

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hello

Another question - One of those days.

A customer has decided they don't need an item on a sales order so we have deleted the item from the sales order but have no idea how to close the sales order. This was the last item unsupplied as it is on back order and they have sourced it elsewhere.

How do we close the sales order?

Thanks

Gillie

    Hi Donnette,

Thanks for responding. We don't want to delete or void the SO as items have gone out from it. We have one item that needed deleting because the customer didn't need it, which we have done but the SO stays open and we want to close it.

    Hi Gillie,

I believe the way to move this transaction to history is to run the Utility in Sales to 'Reconcile - Move Completed documents to History'. That should 'close' out this order and move it to SOP History.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

You should be capable of voiding or deleting the SO based on your module setting in Sales Order Processing.
