I have just taken over the support of a dynamics system and I have an issue I have not seen before.

I have an opportunities entity with a field in it that links to another entity called Site.

When I add this field to the main opportunity page and publish it i get no errors but when I open the form I can see the new field but when I click in it to add a looked up value the field goes grey and I can't add any value. Rest of the form is fine and will except data it's just this field.

What am I missing here.

Thanks in advance

Frosty

    Hi Frosty,

It looks like the field is disabled on the form which can be done by

    1) Changing the field properties and check "Field is Readonly" property

    2) Add a business rule or javascript to lock/ disable the field.

Please check if any of the above is true.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi partner,

    This is by design.

The following entities cannot be used in OOB Sales or Customer Service, they are entities of Universal Resource Scheduling (URS) and can only be used in URS.

To use the fields of these entities in UCI, we need to get the new Core Service Scheduling package (msdynce_coreservicescheduling) which comes with new scheduling experience on top of URS, along with these entities UCIfield.

    Please refer to this document:
