Creating a new record for a custom entity.

I have created a new entity which is shown on my Opportunity forms using the Sub-Grid.

The problem I have is when I click the + to add a new record it shows me the lookup box which shows all the previous records. What I want is to have it like the Quotes Sub-Grid... click on the + and it creates a new Quote with NO lookup.

I have looked around the the system but can't see a way to do this.

Thanks.

    Hi Henda79,

For easy way, no customization, Make the Opportunity lookup field in the New Entity setting (any field that link Opportunity as parent with New Entity) as Mandatory or set the requirement field from Optional to Required.

This is the behavior of CRM subgrid, if you don't make the parent entity field in the child entity as not Required/Mandatory, then if you click + in the parent form subgrid, it will not open a new record, instead it will show a lookup to list all of previous records.

On the other hand, if you make as field required, then it open you a new form, either you implement Quick Create Form or not, it will open a new form pop up.

    Check this link:

    and

    and

It is also depends on your design whether to make the Opportunity as mandatory for the custom entity or not but this is make senses if the new entity you want to always have linked Opportunity on it and it makes you later no more customization.

    Hope this helps!

    Thanks.
