I assign the out-of-the-box security role "Event Administrator" to a user with the expectation that the user should be able to fully administer Events. However, the user can not accomplish the following:
- See the Wait List items associated with an Event.
- Manually add an Event Registration to an Event - throws an exception, the plugin traces indicate that the user lacks Read-privilege for the Waitlist entity.
- Create a new Event where Waitlist is enabled - throws an exception, the plugin traces also in this case indicate that the user lacks Read-privilege for the Waitlist entity.
I am running version 1.28.1004.0 of Marketing ("August release"). I have not yet tested the above using the September release.
Do I need to add any other security role to the user in order to administer Events, or is the OOB "Event Administrator" role simply missing certain Waitlist privileges? I could create my own security role, but I prefer using the security roles that are shipped with Marketing.
Hey Adner,
This certainly seems like a bug. I recommend that you update your marketing to the latest release (here's the release blog - blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/.../announcing-the-dynamics-365-for-marketing-december-2018-update-is-now-available ). The event administrator role in this release is working as expected (and as you described it should work).
