Access is denied when saving record for User lookup field

Hi all,

I have a form for a custom entity with fields on as below:

The form saves without problem if the 'Legal assessment by' field is blank however if populated i get an Access is denied message.

The log file contains ObjectTypeCode: 8, AccessRights: AppendToAccess

This is looking at the User entity but when i check the access rights for this users access role it appears to have this already?

Even if i give whole org rights it still errors. any ideas what is happening here?

    Can you collect platform traces while collecting this and check the elaborate stack and error on this and post it for us.

    Thanks, I have fixed this. Even though the error suggested the issue was with appendTo privilages on the User entity, the issue was with the custom entity, giving rights here has fixed the problem. Not sure why the log file pointed to the wrong entity.
