CRM 2016 on-prem upgrade, Query Build Error in the System Settings.

Hello all,

Scratching my head trying to figure out the best way to trouble shoot this. Upgrade a CRM 2011 organization to CRM 2013, then to CRM 2015, and then to CRM 2016.

When I then attempt to go to Settings > Administration > System Settings I'm greeted with this error:

4213.Capture.PNG

It doesn't give me the option to download a log to see what it's missing, nothing comes up in the Event Viewer. If I open the System Settings in CRM 2015 there is no error.

Open to any suggestions/ ideas.

As you are using CRM onpremise, you can enable tracing in your CRM server and can check log files for details.

Try this tool it will work for 2016 as well: crmdiagtool2011.codeplex.com

    Thanks

I've seen this error before but in different scenarios. From what I can tell this has something to do with the metadata. Try publishing all customizations and see if that fixes it. If not, try to create an attribute and then again publish customizations.

Also, try iisreset and see if that helps and of course, you can enable tracing and see what's going on.

First time I saw this issue was back with CRM 2011 Online days and it resolved on its own after a few minutes. I've seen this issue again when opening workflows (OOB) and iisreset helped over there.

Thanks for the suggestions so far. Looking at the log, the repeating message appears to be:

Error Details: 'Organization' entity doesn't contain attribute with Name = 'isconflictdetectionenabledformobileclient'.

This appears to be a Boolean column on the OrganizationBase table in CRM 2016 but mine is somehow missing in this upgraded organization. I'm tempted of manually creating this column in CRM 2016 and rolling the dice with it but I'm open to other suggestions.

I... wouldn't recommend that. Although to validate the error you can try adding that column in and then publish all customizations.

I would say try and upgrade all environments  with the latest update rollup/service packs and then do another upgrade and see if the issue is still there.

I agree, I won't do that. I'm going to open a ticket with Microsoft and I'll update this post when I have some more information.

    Hey everyone, found the answer.

We run multiple CRM full servers, two to be exact. One of the CRM servers was not on the latest, and same, version as the other. Updating both CRM servers to the same version, re-uploading the CRM 2015 organization, has fixed the issue.
