One Sales Item but multiple manufacturing locations and/or bought in items

Hi All

We are just starting with a D365 BC implementation

We have several items that we may manufacture or buy in. We need to track the profitability by sales order, but really don’t want to list two different item in the sales catalog. The things we produce are horticultural, so we can only produce in state in summer, but can buy in, in fall and winter.

Lets pretend it's tomatoes. All we want on the price list is "tomatoes". So in summer (assuming no crop failure) we can produce in-house. In fall and winter we need to import, but we need to track whether we grew them or bought them as margin is way different. In other ERP's I've used SKU's for that, bu tin Nav a SKU is more like a Stocking Type. How would I set this up in Nav, so we could track revenue and GL postings based on whether we fulfilled the order with grown vs bought product?

Thanks
