What is the difference between "sales orders" and "sales documents"

Hi everyone,

 

I am querying business central using Power BI. I d like to know what is the difference between workflowSalesDocuments (object id 6402) and Sales Order (object id 42). 

 

Also in general what is the use of workflow tables? does it make sens to get content from them?
