Security roles do not automatically assign to a user in a Team

Hi,

Wasn't sure where to post this, so decided general would suffice.

A bit of background.

I've created a team within Dynamics 365 CE, paired this with the Azure AD Security group via the object ID.

I've added a security role to the team and have then added the users to the Azure AD Security group.

I'm unsure as to where it's failing, however, the users who are in the team, don't seem to inherit the role assigned to the team.

Are there any further steps that need to be done?
Is this not supposed to work as I've setup?

Slightly confused, as we have other teams with other roles assigned working correctly.

Thanks for any input.

    hi

It's possible that there may be a few reasons why the users in the team are not inheriting the security role as expected. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

Check if the security role is set up correctly: Make sure that the security role is set up correctly and that the necessary privileges are granted. You can also check if the security role is assigned to the team correctly.

Check if the Azure AD Security Group is set up correctly: Ensure that the Azure AD Security Group is set up correctly and that all the users who should inherit the security role are added to the group.

Check if the Object ID is correct: Verify that the Object ID for the Azure AD Security Group is correct and that it is associated with the team.

Check if the security role is inherited: Confirm if the security role is set to be inherited by child business units and teams. If it is not, then the users in the team will not inherit the security role.

Check if the security role is the only role assigned: If a user has multiple security roles assigned, then the most restrictive security role takes precedence. Ensure that the security role you want to assign to the team is the only role assigned to the team.

Check if the users are removed from other teams: If a user is a member of multiple teams, ensure that the user is not already a member of another team with a conflicting security role.

Check if the users' security roles are refreshed: Sometimes, it can take time for the users' security roles to refresh. You can try waiting a few hours or even a day to see if the users inherit the security role correctly.
