Could you be more specific? What encryption are you referring to?

Have you seen this article: docs.microsoft.com/.../client-security-and-protection

Am trying to capture AX traffic through a span port to my database activity monitoring system (Imperva) through sniffing mode but they can't see the data. They suspect the encryption method am using on AX application is not supported by Imperva on sniffing mode.

They have told me to check the encryption method am using.

So your question concerns the encryption of the communication between the AOS and the database.

I'm not sure if that traffic is encrypted or not. And if yes, how.

What are you trying to achieve?

Ok, found the documentation. Here it just says that the communication is encrypted: docs.microsoft.com/.../client-security-and-protection

I don't know any details about RPC encryption, such as if there are many different ways to do that or only one.

Okay thanks let me try and find out the details of RPC encryption, eg the ciphers used and key length.

    Hi Winnie,

It is possible but not recommended to disable the encryption. What business requirement is asking for sniffing on the communication? It's quite dangerous as it will also communicate credentials information.
