Hi:
On the G/L Register, the Total amount shows one decimal place even though the other figures show two.
How is something like this fixed?
Thanks!
John
Thanks for going the extra mile on this, Tammy! Yes, what you said makes perfect sense!
In fact, I just now modified the report and widened the debit and credit columns.
The Totals display correctly, now.
Thanks, again!
John
Hi John,
Thank you for sharing the information above. All this setup looks fine. I tested out this situation. Specifically, I posting a General Journal with the amount of 1,029,231,519.65. When I printed the G/L Register, I believe that I am seeing something similar to what you described. What is occurring is that the number in the billions exceeds the space which is available to print the number on the report. In order to see the full number, you will need to use a Custom Layout of this report where you modify the RDLC so that there is more space available to the amount and total fields--you need to make the fields wider in the layout. When you widen them, then the full number will print.
Hi Tammy:
The company is Canadian based, and the transactions were processed in the local currency.
Although I do not see anything in the General Ledger Setup window that would cause this, below is a screenshot of some of the selections in its "General" tab. Could anything there have caused this?
Anyway, the Total figure is showing as 1,029,231,519.6. It should be showing as 1,029,231,519.65. This is not a custom report.
Any ideas on how to fix this would be appreciated. Thanks, Tammy!!!
John
Hello John,
Thank you for reaching out with this question.
I have printed the G/L Register report and have multiple registers listed where both the lines and the totals have two decimal digits.
Could the total amounts in question be influenced by a foreign Currency? If so, it would be good to open the Currency Card in question and review the fields in the Rounding fast tab.
Another spot to look would be the General Ledger Setup page. The home/local currency is rounded according to the rounding fields in the General fast tab.
Finally, are you dealing with a custom version of the G/L Register report? If so, you may find this information of interest. These are the fields and field parameters which together control the decimals: docs.microsoft.com/.../devenv-format-field-data
