Is there a setting to make an item "not discountable" in Dynamics 365 Business Edition

Hi,

I am looking for a way to set an item to prevent it from being discounted. The scenario is that there are certain items that are commodities that the prices fluctuate and there is not much margin on them. I need to be able to set these items to prevent a discount from being applied to them. Any suggestions on how to do this?

    Hello Mark,

I think you are looking for a way to disable the Special Prices & Discounts field on the Item Card as well as remove the Set Special Discounts and Prices buttons on the Home Tab. Is that what you are looking for in order to prevent the item from being discounted?  Let me know if this is not a correct assumption.

Currently you cannot edit/remove/disable fields on a window without creating some sort of customization.

    Regards,

    Jennifer,

Thank you for getting back to me on this.

I have a customer who would want to be able to have certain items that were not able to be discounted. I don't know if I need to disable the Special Prices & Discounts field on the item card or how the system would handle this.

The scenario would be like as follows. A customer is buying power tools, lighting, lumber, sheetrock, roofing shingles. The business owner would like to give their contractor customers a 10% discount on everything except the lumber, sheetrock and roofing shingles. How would I do this?
