Order for approval status

Hi,

This is proforma customer and when I sent the order for approval the status changed automatically to *released*.

Please could suggest me how to solve this issue ?

Hello,

The status will automatically become 'Released' if the sender is the approver.

Could you show the approval entries of this sales order and the related workflow?

Is there any customisation done on the workflow, also what kind of workflow have you setup, can you provide more details on the workflow approval type.

possible scenarios that would made this happen

1 the requester is the approver

2 the amount doesn't trigger the workflow and get auto released

3 the workflow is not setup properly so the trigger doesn't fire as expected

This is not an issue; it is default functionality in Business Central that if the sender is also the approver, the status will automatically change to Released. You should check the user approval setup and workflow configuration to ensure they are set up correctly.

Hi, I replicated the issue and observed the same results you were getting. After making changes in step 2, it is now working as expected. Follow below steps:

Step 1:

Step 2:

Approval user setup:

Step 3: Create order and send request to approve. status will automatically change to pending for approval.

Step 4: Go to another user open record and approve it.

Now status will change automatically as released.

You can post it now.

please follow the steps and let me know the results.

Hello,

The approval entries shouldn't be blank, could you set yourself as Approval Admin on 'Approval User Setup' page and re-open the approval entry again?

Hello

This happens when you would have the rights to approve that document. Check the settings in your workflow. If you use approval chain and you gave yourself unlimited approval the docs will always get set to released when you approve. But otherusers that dont have unlimited the approval will be sent out, based on the limits you set.
