Benefit Recipient Table and D365 modernize business units (matrix) security model

I have enabled "modernize business units (matrix)" security model for my D365 install.

But the msnfp_benefitrecipient table does not appear to support populating the owningbusinessunit field (which is a critical requirement for using matrix security model)

The msnfp_benefitrecipient.owningbusinessunit column metadata has IsValidForCreate/Update set to false.

Making it impossible to populate msnfp_benefitrecipient.owningbusinessunit either manually via DV table data edit or automatically via Power Automate

Does anyone know how to resolve/workaround this? I cant seem to edit the metadata myself in order to set to true.
