Hi Eslam Omar,
What functionality did you use to make this transfer?
Did you simply enter a record in a fixed asset journal or did you use something else?
Best regards,
Ludwig
i used transfer fixed asset TAB from Common - Fixed assets - fixed assets transfer also i tried mass transfer from Periodic - mass transfer the same issue existing
and i did not enter a fixed asset journal
Hi,
The fixed asset transfer functionality (=>Common - Fixed assets - fixed assets transfer ) can be used to shift or change a financial dimension that has been posted with your fixed asset. As an example, if a fixed asset moves from Department A to Department B. This functionality does, however, not change the account that is used for example when you post a fixed asset acquisition, depreciation, etc.
What happened in your case exactly? Was a fixed asset aquired and posted on a wrong fixed asset account?
It would be great if you could provide some additional information on the underlying problem that you want to fix.
Many thanks and best regards,
in my case i acquire the FA on temp account or under construction account which is predefined already in fixed assets posting profile then after while the financial department needs to change the temp account to FA account (Machinery For example) so they need to transfer the fixed assets from the temp account to machinery main account
The way how many companies I worked with in the past are doing that is the following:
1. Create a specific fixed asset group for 'in construction' fixed assets. On this fixed asset, you just record all the cost that you encounter until the construction is complete. Note: In the fixed asset posting profile you can setup a specific 'in construction' or WIP account to track those costs.
2. Once the construction is finished you open the value model(s) linked to your fixed asset and then select functions-split fixed asset. In the split fixed asset form that opens, you select a new 'finished' fixed asset that belongs to a different fixed asset group and transfer 100% of the value. Once you hit ok, the complete 'construction value' will be shifted to the new fixed asset and your financial postings will be adjusted correspondingly.
i will give that a shot and get back to you :)
Have you been able to check this out?
Would be great if you could keep us updated.
