How to change the maximum number of results showing on a dashboard graph?

Posted on by 165

Hello,

So we have this graph on one of our dashboards which shows the opportunities closing within the next month however, the amount of them makes the graph unusable. Is it possible to set the graph so that it only shows like the top 10 or 15 profitable opportunities? Please see screenshot below...

Many thanks in advance.

    Hi partner,

    My first reply did explain that we need sort the view's order first. Please follow the order of the steps.

    Since the original theme is over, I would recommend you post a new theme for this problem.

    Keeping the purity of the theme helps the forum's users navigate to the issue they need quickly.

    Also, don't forget to click Yes to mark my answer as verified. Thanks.

    Ok I've managed to fix this, it turns out that I had to change the sort order within the view I was using so that it would be sorted by descending 'Estimated profit' and then the graph works...

    another question tho, I have two forms and each on has a separate estimated profit field, one has 'Estimated Fixed Line Profit' and the other 'Estimated Mobile Profit'... when I configure the sort order I'm able to sort by 'Estimated fixed line profit' however I'm unable to sort by 'Estimated Mobile profit'... any idea why that might be?

    Many thanks.

    HI Lu,

    Here is the exported chart;

    I have added the below bits that were missing in my xml file...

    count="10"

    <order alias="_CRMAutoGen_aggregate_column_Num_0" descending="true" />

    I then saved it and tried to import it but got the same error message as before;

    Hi partner,

    Could you export the chart and share the xml?

    This is the datadescription part of the xml of my chart, which successfully displays only the top 10 opportunities.

    There doesn't appear to be a 'Chart type' option when you go to edit the view?

    Go to Advanced Settings > Customizations > Customize the System, expand entities and go to Opportunity > views, edit the view.

    Change the Graph type.

    Hi partner,

    We need to first set the sorting of the view and then set the number of records displayed in the chart.

    1. Edit how the views are sorted.

    Go to Advanced Settings > Customizations > Customize the System, expand entities and go to Opportunity > views, edit the viw.

    pastedimage1574073698898v1.png    pastedimage1574073805878v2.png

    Click Configure Sorting, select Sort By as the field of profit, check Descending Order. Save and publish all the customizations.

    2. Set the number of records displayed in the chart.

    Edit the chart, then set the number of records displayed according to the profit, please follow the order of the screenshot below.

    pastedimage1574074481149v6.png

    Enter the number you want to display.

    This way it only shows the top 10 with the highest profit.
