Dispatch note or delivery note for Dynamics 365 for Financials and Operations

Hello,

Is there any way of generating a delivery note or dispatch note from the system, to accompany goods sent to a customer as a result of a sales order?  This would normally be printed from the system by an operative at 'goods outwards' in the warehouse, and would show quantities picked and packed, but not monetary values.

Will this be included within the 'picking list' functionality currently in development, or does a new request / idea need to be created for this?

Thanks,

Malcolm

    Hi Malcom,

Thank you for the question. In looking at the information around the Picking List, this Packing/Delivery/Dispatch functionality is not clearly included. I would suggest a new request/idea in order to clearly articulate this need.

I would assume this is the Posted Sales Shipment document which is created when shipment is posted. Pick functionality is more an internal document not meaningful to the customer which receives goods. In other words:

    - Pick functionality provides info to the warehouse employee of where to take goods from and where to place it. Normally, this would be internal warehouse spaces (bins) where items are located (take from) and the shipment/docking area (place). From a customer perspective, they wouldn't care where there were stored in their vendor's internal warehouse.

    - Posted sales shipment is just a shipping note of the items being shipment (item and quantity). This is what might be meaningful to customer to confirm what they received and what it was actually shipped (posted doc).

Sigfredo - I had not discovered the Posted Sales Shipment document but, as you say, it does seem to display all the information that we would need on a UK 'Delivery Note' (and it does not reveal prices, which is also good).

I will investigate how that document could be used in our process, before lodging any new request/idea.

Thanks both. (Apologies for delay in responding, I have been on leave.)
