Installing Dynamics SL 2011 Business Portal on Windows 2008 R2 Datacenter?

We are getting an error when we try to install Business Portal on our 2008R2 Datacenter servers ("Your operating system does not meet requirements for Business Portal").  

I see the requirements are for standard and Enterprise but it is hard to understand why Datacenter would be excluded.

Does anyone know is this can be made to work?

    Hi JLRAD,

    I regret to inform you that there is no way to install Business Portal on Windows Server 2008 R2 Datacenter. The setup and install file automatically checks the system to make sure that it meets the minimum requirements for it to run.

    However, we have issued a hot-fix to allow the install to work on Windows Server 2012 Datacenter.  Please see KB 2892913.

    Please let me know if you have any additional question on this topic.

    That's awesome that you are providing a fix for 2012 Datacenter.  However I would bet that the vast majority of businesses are still on some version of 2008 R2.  Last time I checked a Datacenter license was upwards of $3K.  Can't you throw us a bone and provide a hotfix that supports 2008 R2 (Datacenter)?

    Hi JL,

    We don't have a hot-fix for 2008 Datacenter and will not be developing one.  It's just not going to work.  I'm sorry I don't have a more encouraging answer.

    Where is this Hot Fix located at?  I could not find it on the link and it talks about BP 5.1, not 6.1.
