Customer Insight API

Hi,

My Customer Insight get data from the company's system.

I have the following requirement:

Whenever the data is updated in the company's system I should be able to schedule to refresh the CI Data Source.

I found some information, but it's not clear how to use them.

As example, https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/customer-insights/audience-insights/real-time-data-ingestion

Is it possible to refresh my Data Source by using this real time data ingestion? How?

Regarding to API, it seems that this one would fit me https://developer.ci.ai.dynamics.com/api-details#api=CustomerInsights&operation=Create-workflow-refresh-schedule

but when I try it (on the API page), I receive the error: "Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

I haven't found any more information about API' parameters .

Hope to count on your help,

Thanks,

Roina

    Hi Roina,

Sounds like you're looking for what we call 'real time updates'.  This is the ability to continuously feed data changes into CI, and have it reflected in a short period of time (seconds). We don't support real time today, but it is an ask that is on our radar.

If you're looking for the ability to very occasionally update CI based on infrequent chances to your data sources, then scheduled updates are a good solution, as we can do differential updates.

Hi - to refresh an existing setup data source, you don't need to create a new workflow refresh schedule.

Can you try finding the api call from the network trace when you initiate a manual refresh, and initiating that api call? you could find the parameters there.

In the manual data source refresh, it would use your credentials to initiate the call. for automated, you would need to have the necessary spn setup.

That api could be wired thru power automate or logic apps too.

Hope this helps. Please let us know if that works or if there is any issue, you could open a support ticket (http://aka.ms/cisupport)

    Thanks
