Hi Kemi - Do you have any specific requirement? We have multiple dashboards already available out of the box in D365 F&O like Financial Insights, CFO overview.

Financial Reporting (Management Reporter tool) is still the primary recommended tool to produce statutory financial reports and that provides a lot of advantages over the Financial reports available under the Financial Insights and CFO Overview Power BI content packs that Microsoft ships out of the box. You can technically build a custom measure and leverage the standard out of the box measure for ledger activities to build financial reports in Power BI, but i still suggest you use the Financial reporting tool of D365 F to create statutory financial reports.

If you are looking for analytical/KPI reporting, please refer to "CFO overview" & "Financial insight" workspace specially financial insight in D365 FO just to get an idea about OOB Power BI reporting.

1. Microsoft Dynamics is already having entity store for different analytical workspace which can be enabled for analysis purose

2. For financial statements, we already have "CFO" dash board or "Financial insight" workspace
3. If you need some changes in visualization, you can edit the same workspace in power BI directly from D365 screen by clicking > Option on action pane > Edit ( This will be enable only for power user access/permission

However, what we want to achieve is to combine some financial data from D365 with other non financial data from D365. We can't achieve that with management reporter.
Kindly, advise on how to do that with Power BI
I would recommend to develop appropriate aggregate measures, dimensions or use existing if available and create a Power BI report and then embed them in D365.
