Need to disable "Convert to Customer" in Sales and Marketing module

Hi All,

We can convert prospects to customers (Convert to Customer button is available in Prospects) in Sales and Marketing Module.

Is there any way to disable that button to restrict some users to create customers?

Regards,

Neethu K B

You seem to ask a lot of beginner level questions that you should be asking from your implementation partner, they should have helped you setting up security based on the requirements you have defined during the business anlysis phase of your project delivery.

You could disable the Security Privilege for the menu item that is linked with the "Convert to Customer" button, using the AX Security framework. technet.microsoft.com/.../gg731787.aspx

I assume you know how to find the form in the AOT behind your AX User Interface thorugh the Personalization menu, then locate the button in the form. If you right click that button form control in the Add-ins > Open new window menu you could find the Menu item behind that functionality, open it. Then again in the right click menu of the button's Menu item > Add-ins > Security tools > View related security roles, you could find what Security components are using that functionality. This is the generic way of finding security objects for any parts of the system in a quick way.

You could custom tailor those Security privileges/Duties/Roles as per your requirements to deny access to certain parts of the system. Please test changes in a Test environment first, do not do this in Production.

    Hi Vilmos,

I have checked in the AOT and there is no  roles assigned to that button.

You know how to add roles to that button?

You can use the search functionality on the top to find similar topics:

    community.dynamics.com/.../142258

Or just Google. I got the following hit by searching for "ax security create menu item for button"

    anithasantosh.wordpress.com/.../defining-security-for-menu-item-buttons-and-menu-buttons

Give it a try next time, you can find answers already for majority of the typical questions a junior would ask.
