Custom Security Role - End

Hi All -

We have a custom security role (Finance) that I have added the End productions privileges to.  This add the Production control > Periodic tasks > Production order status update > End menu item.  But does not add the End menu item (ProdHistoricalCostAction) under Process on the All production orders screen.

This privilege is part of the Maintain production order completion duty, but don't necessarily want to add this duty to the role.  All I want them to be able to do is End.

Thanks in advance for the assistance!

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Jake,

There can be different privileges for menu items with the same purpose. You need to find the menu-item and then the related privilege. There are various options to do this. A developer could look at the form design in Visual Studio to get details. As business user can use the security task recording. For the security recording, you can also read my blog for more information: dynamicspedia.com/.../

To add: The menu item you highlighted is part of the duty 'Inquire into production orders' and privilege 'View production order log'.

Sorry for being confusing there. I should have included the below image.

Based on the Task recording, the menu item is ProdHistoricalCostAction which is believe is part of the privilege I mentioned.  How do I got about finding if I need to add other privileges?

    Hi Jake,

I was more focusing on your screenshot and didn't read carefully. You are correct. The menu item is part of the privilege 'End productions'. The menu item used on the form is different than the menu item in the menu. Out of the box, both menu items are part of this privilege.

There can be several reasons why this menu item is missing:

    - Personalization or save views where the menu item is removed.

    - One of the role(s) for this user contains a privilege where the specific menu item has a 'deny' setting. This is not a standard privilege.

    - Another customization.
