Same entity schema name and field schema name causing issue

Hello guys,

Today we created an entity with the name as "Business Stream" and created an option set field called "Business Stream". Then tried to create a business rule to set the "Name" value to be equivalent to the option set value.

For example, if the Stream (option set) value equals to "Computing", then the "Name" should be "Computing"

But the business rule wasn't showing any values to select while adding condition

Solution

We created a field with different schema name

What would be the reason of behind the issue?

    Is it executing?  Did you put an conditions in the workflow that might cause it NOT to execute?  

    Maybe post a screen shot of the workflow editor, along with the update step where you setting the value.

    Tried that too, its not updating the Name field.

    I'm not sure this will work?  However, you could probably do what you are trying to do with a real-time workflow on the entity.  Just set it to run after the record is created, or if the Business Stream OptionSet is changed.  Then have it update the 'Name' field with the currently selected value from the OptionSet.
