How can I put a report that shows modifications to a record by multiple users?

I am trying to run a report for a department with 2 staff members. I am looking at records modified within the last 30 days, and who modified them.

However it is only showing me results of who modified it most recently. The way that the process works is Staff A will pick up a record for the initial processing, and Staff B will pick it up at a later date to finalise it.

I want to be able to see records to compare how many total records Staff A has modified vs Staff B. But any initial modifications made by Staff A are not reflected in the report if Staff B has also modified them at a later date, which presents inaccurate data on Staff A's workload.

Is there any way I can create a report that will show records modified by both staff in the included data?

Out of the box, Dynamics 365 only tracks the last modified by user (modifiedby) and last modified on (modifiedon), so prior modifiers (like Staff A) are overwritten when someone else (like Staff B) edits the record.

    1. Enable Audit History
    • Go to Settings > Auditing > Audit Summary View.
    • Enable auditing for the entity and fields you're interested in.
    • Then run an Audit Summary report or query the Audit entity.
This will show all users who modified the record, along with timestamps. You can filter on audit entries from the last 30 days and count how many times each staff modified records.

    2. Custom Plugin or Power Automate
If audit logs are not suitable or performance is a concern:
    • Create a custom entity (e.g., RecordModificationLog) to store:
      • Record ID
      • Modified by
      • Modified on
    • Use a plugin or Power Automate flow on record update to log each modification.
    • Then report from this custom entity.

Dynamics 365 only stores the last modifier. Use audit history or implement a custom logging mechanism to track and report on all modifiers for a record.
