Unfortunately, A lot of providers don't support box-shadow. List here www.campaignmonitor.com/.../ .
However, there are some alternatives that you can use to achieve this:

You can switch to the HTML view of email messages and put the required CSS to add column shadow:
CSS: box-shadow: 10px 10px 20px #888888;
