How to upload items from SO to HQ?

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

I have uploaded new items to SO using QSC Import and I need to upload to HQ.

I ran worksheet 401 and 250 and 101 but it won't upload to HQ. Is there any way to upload items from SO to HQ?

Same Item Dynamics Fix, it will send the item to HQ, and automatically create the worksheets to send the items to the rest of the Stores.

We fixed 2 things for a major Manufacturer/Wholesaler/Retailer in 1/2 Day that they had tried to fix for 2 years with various internal MS RMS/HQ, NAV, SQL etc certified IT staff. They were their own RMS BP. Now we are their RMS BP, and they have added 13 more stores in the last year or so. Now they are switching from NAV to Oracle EBS, and instead of doing their own integration like they did to NAV, they are using us so they don't have to worry about maintaining all of these data links internally.

Meanwhile, until you have this installed and running, as Keith says, in RMS you must create all of your items at HQ; so you should set up security to block the creation at the Stores.

Once you have the Utility installed and have run it to fix the existing items that were created at the Stores, one of the components of the Utility is a function that calls out over the Web to HQ and reserves the inventory rows for the items if, say, your best buyer is at Store #3 instead of at HQ - then they do not have to log in and work Remotely on an HQ workstation, which is what would be required otherwise.

It also adds Matrix Item reporting, which is very useful for Apparel shops like yours.

    Hi DR.RYU,

In a Headquarters environment, all items must be created at Headquarters and then sent down to the store. It is not possible to upload items from the Store to HQ. However, there may be a 3rd party add-in that would allow this.
