Dynamics CRM Asynchronous Service Memory Consumption

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

HI Guys,

We have on-premise CRM 2015 installed. We are facing an issue where CRM Asynchronous service which is consuming lots of Memory.

Currently it is consuming 2644 MB of memory out of 8 GB in total. Is it usual? I know the memory consumption depends on the number of factors like system jobs etc. Our  system is not customized much and even not many workflows. there are only 10 system jobs in waiting state.

Any advice to reduce this memory consumption is highly appreciated.

Thanks Scott for your inputs. As per your suggestion, if the installation is already done, can we still move the Asynchronous service to another server? If yes then will it impact our current functioning CRM application? Also appreciate if you can share the steps at highlevel? Thanks again for your valuable inputs!

    Hi Ranjeet,

Any waiting jobs will not consume memory - only running ones. 2.5Gb for the service doesn't seem particularly high.Is it increasing over time or is it stable at this size -If stable I would think it is normal.

Many deployments choose to put the asynchronous server on separate server(s) so that they are not competing for memory with IIS.

    Hope this helps
