Suppose i have 2 crm url... CRM A and CRM B

I created contact C in CRM A with First Name ="First", Last Name="Last, Email="Email@email.com" Job Title ="Job Title"

I imported it to CRM B using data migration utility

Now i updated same contact on CRM A with details  First Name ="FirstA", Last Name="LastA, Email=NULL,  Job Title ="Job TitleA"

Imported again to CRM B , now Everything is updated in CRM B but email is not showing as NULL, its still taking old value.

Is this desired behaviour where Migration utility don't update values to BLANK in destination?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi,

I have tried same in my instance and noticed same behaviour. I think this is one of limitaion of this utlity tool.

This tool was originally created to deploy configuration data and not used for Data migration for transaction entityes.

If you want to make your field null in target instance when field value is blank in source instance, please use OOB import wizard instead of using this tool.

OOB import does has the feature to set the field value blank while update if blank value if specified in file.

    Hope this helps!

Thanks for trying it. Is there any document where its written that its a limitation.

How you manage to update only single record using fetch. My schema name is failing, it is always creating new record in target even though i have given condition in fetch

    Hi,

You don't need to pass entire fetch xml downloaded from advanced fine. You should only pass filter criteria as shown below -

    Hi,

Unfortunately it is not mentioned on Microsoft docs page.

You can submit your idea on Dynamics Idea portal so that Product team can add this feature in next release.
