Facility/Equipment entity ribbon uncustomizable

Hi,

I'm trying to customize the "Facility/Equipment" (OOTB entity) ribbon but when I try to open the solution with the RibbonWorkbench I receive the error message "There were no entities in the solution selected. Add at least one entity and try again".

I tried adding another entity X in the solution and the RibbonWorkbench no longer show me the error, but it opens showing me only the entity X.

It seems like the "equipment" standard entity is not customizable by the RibbonWorkbench.

I tried the same on another customer installation and I get the same behavior.

Have you got any idea about this? Or workaround?

Thanks

Simone

PS: I tested it on CRM 365 v8.2 onPremise with both RibbonWorkbench2013 (v2.0.1.3) and RibbonWorkbench2016 (v3.1.177.1): same issue!

    Hi,

While adding entity metadata, make sure you select "Include Entity Metadata" when you add a solution.

You don't need to add any other components once you do this and you should be good.

    Hope this works.

    Hi,

I just tried this on D365 v9 and looks like this is not available for ribbon customization  since it is a business entity.

    For Facility/Equipment, it doesn't allow.

    Hope this helps.

You should open the entity using Ribbon workbench , no matter whether it's system or custom entity.

As You said  if you add another entity then the error is not showing , it means something wrong with the entities which you added in the solution .

Try to remove  the equipment entity and add again and make sure you choose add all assets and see you can able to open the solution or not.

    Hi Simone,

It appears to be some issue with Ribbon Workbench tool wherein it is not considering the Facility/ Equipment entity for ribbon customization. However you can still customize ribbon using the traditional way of updating the ribbon.xml.
