Configure Dynamics AX 2012 from scratch

Right now i have just finished installing the Dynamics AX 2012 on a multi-machine environment, Since i don't have the Demo database, can anyone tell me how to configure the system from scratch, is there any book/online resource/guide available for me to do this?

I don't have access to partner resource or customer resource, all i have is a MSDN subscription.

Many thanks.

William

I hoop this will help you

    explanation of the checklist

The check list (as Dick indicated) is a good start for the initial setup. After that you have to configure all modules you need. To be able to do so you can use information from MSDN (just search for AX2012 on the Internet) or training materials for AX. They are however available mainly from the partnersource or customersource. Do you have a Microsoft partner that could help you with this?

Without documentation it will be hard setting up a system from scratch.

    Hi William,

As Gertjan mentioned: Without proper documentation (trainingmaterial) and no demo data you really can get lost. There is some information on technet. technet.microsoft.com/.../gg852966.aspx

This will not help you understanding all functionality and supported business processes.

Contact a Microsoft partner or training center.

in case you press CTRL-W, do you get an workspace with menu?

I have seen similar , in AX 2012 R2, with multiple Partitions.

Did you complete the initialization checklist? I wouldn't prevent the checklist from showing unless you know you have made a modification that is not impacting, such as creating/deleting an empty model...

If you don't complete the checklist, the software can become very unstable in multiple areas.
