1 View for both owned opportunities and those they're connected to

Is their an OTB way of showing opportunities a user owns as well as those where they're in the Sales team in the same view.

Essentially creating a view that combines the 2 standard views:

My Opportunities

Opportunities I am a member of

Absolutely just  need to use the OR operator, create a new view which looks for opportunities where the owner equals current user or OR owner equals current users teams. (see below screenshot)

    Hi,

That solution hasn't worked. Possibly i worded my original question wrong. I didnt mean that the owner of the opportunity is a team that im a member of.

Instead i meant that ive been connected to the opportunity using the Sales Team subgrid.

    Hi Scott,

I don't think you can do this because you would need to create an OR between a local and related filter. The local filter (as mentioned above) is 'owner equals current user'. The related filter would be something like 'Connections: ConnectedTo current user'. See figure attached (yes, it's CRM 2011, still!)

Unfortunately there is no OTB way of creating an OR between these two.

I can only suggest making an automatic ConnectedTo between the owner and the opportunity (with a script or workflow), maybe with the role of 'Owner'. Then your view would only need 'Connections: ConnectedTo current user'. The only down-side is that you may see duplicate records if you are the owner and also some other role.

    Good luck.

Thanks Brad, Yeh ive managed to get that far previously then realized i couldnt group them with an OR (even with CRM 2015).

Ill give your suggestion a go though, seems like a potential work around that i hadnt thought of.

    Cheers

    Hi,

Just to clarify for anyone else who comes across this post, below is the final result which seems to do the trick as per Brad's suggestion.

Upon opportunity creation or assign a connection record is created where the owner of the opportunity is the connected to name with the role being of your choice, then the connected from should be the created opportunity record.

I hope this helps someone out as i'd been trying to combine these views for sometime with no luck.

    Cheers
