Could I use different item code when create release order from blanket sales order (Dynamics AX 2009) ?

Is it possible to change the item code from blanket type sales order when create release order in Dynamics AX 2009?

For example, in blanket sales order, I use itemcode: GeneralItem - 10 unit, and then when I create release order, I need to change the release one to use itemcode: DetailItem1 - 6 unit, DetailItem2 - 4 unit

Is it possible ?

    Thanks for your help.

    But sorry I don't understand which sequence number code should I change ...

    Example case:

    My company has sales contract with customer for ordering item at certain qty and price, but at that time of contract the customer don't know detail item he will needed, for example he just contract for ordering wood 1000 mtr3 at certain price per cubic.

    For this case I create blanket sales order and item code WOOD

    Later, the customer ask to release the contract to become wood 4x4x60 - 100 mtr3, and wood 6x6x60 - 150 mtr3

    For this case I need to create release order from blanket, but using new item code WOOD4x4x60  and WOOD6x6x60, instead of using item code WOOD in the release order form.

    Is it possible for AX to handle situation like that ?

    Hi Rudy

    In AX2009 the answer is no, it is 1:1 contract to release. You cannot have a contract for a "generic" item, then release the item, update the item code to something different and still have the contract reference the call off. From memory you cannot change the item code on the released order, you need to delete it. I cannot remember but I am pretty sure this resets the quantity on the blanket order of the quantity remaining.

    In later verrsions the blanket order is an "agreement" and you are not solely tied to the item code, but I am pretty sure in AX2009 you are.

    Thanks for your help. I can't use gross field in AX because I need to count the inventory stock of each detail item.

    This function is available in AX 2012, you can use sales agreement
