1- Should I certify MCTS before MCITP?

2- What is latest version of Dynamics AX and newest exams codes?

3- I'm a .net Developer, What certifications and exams I need to challenge  Dynamics AX development career?

4- What Moc codes for MS Dynamics AX?

    Hi,

There are some changes going on with the certifications. Last year new levels were announced but the introduction has been postponed. We have to wait for some new announcements.

    1. There was no MCITP exam - you got MCITP by getting a certain combination of MCTS. There is no MCITP for AX 2012 and the one for AX 2009 isn't available anymore.
    2. Please refer to Microsoft Dynamics certifications on Microsoft Learning for latest information.
    3. You don't need any, although they may help before you get invited to an interview. There is just one AX Dev certification for AX2012, but you may get some extra points AX Install & Config, .NET certifications, SQL server etc. If I was you, I would concentrate on parts of AX where I could benefit from the knowledge of .NET, e.g. integration via AIF, Enterprise Portal and such things.

I realize that I'm digging up an old post but I'm not clear about the certification requirements considering AX7 / Dynamics 365.

Are ALL of the tests listed here required for the certification?

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/learning/dynamics-certification.aspx

I see redundant tests for 2012 and AX (AX7) and it's confusing.  Thanks for any feedback!

It's indeed confusing. Anyway, I think these are the only exams for AX 7:

    • MB6-890: Microsoft Dynamics AX Development Introduction
    • MB6-892: Microsoft Dynamics AX Distribution and Trade
    • MB6-893: Microsoft Dynamics AX Financials

Regarding what's required, the question is "required for what?".

    Thanks for the response Martin.

Do you need to complete all exams (including sure step and CRM) as a company to say "We are AX certified"?  In order to be MCSE Microsoft certified allows choose one exam from 4 to 6 exams in a couple of different food groups.  I'm wondering if the structure here is similar.

Does that makes sense?  Thanks again

For technical people, the latest exam is MB6-894: Development, Extensions and Deployment for Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations.

The full list of exams is here.

    Hi.

And now we again have to refer to this very old post. The exam MB6-894 is going to be retired on december 31, 2019 along with "MCSA: Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Operations" certification. So, does anybody know if any replacement is going to be? For now the only certification "Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Fundamentals" with exam MB-900 looks like a candidate for replacement, but it defenitely less focused on a development. So how do you think what is better for DAX developers - wait for a while, or just prepare for MB-900?

Hurrah! Fortunately they just announced the exam MB-500 and an appropriate certification. So now MB-300 + MB-500 = Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365: Finance and Operations Apps Developer Associate
