Adding employment in multiple companies

Hi,

Is that right to add one employee in multiple legal entities?

The customer wants to add a person should be part of 2 entities at the same time. What is the procedure to follow multiple employment?

Regards,

Sonali

I have the same question (0)

    Hi.

Employees are available in all legal entities. If you want to have one employee in different legal entities you have to use the „Employment“ tab on the employee itself. Create an employment in legal entity 1, switch to legal entity 2 and create another employment here as well.

    Hello Sonali Rout,

This is difficult to say without knowing the business of your customer.

The person which client is expecting to be part of more than one legal entity; does he/she is a centralized person who is engaged to handle any specific activity in both entities? For example; procurement or sales or any other activity!

D365 has provision to add an employee in multiple entities without even retiring / ending the employment of that person from the existing entity. You can simply go to Human resource > Workers form and click on Employment history.

Here; you can click on New and then add the same person in another legal entity.

Better you should discuss this internally and find out the reason of such a requirement. Please check the company HR policy too for such cases to understand the reason as it will create impact in payroll for obvious reasons.

Thank you Sourav and Christoph for sharing the details.

@Christoph I don't think we need to switch between legal entities to create a new employment as we can even do this from the employment history itself as Sourav mentioned.

@Sourav The HR policy is clear on this and this user is even part of both entities since 2011. So technically I am not thinking about the payroll matter but thanks for mentioning this.
