I am working over the Canadian Payroll Detail Advice Slip report and trying to figure out what values go into making up the GROSS Pay value.
I would have thought pretty simple right - Gross pay should be all Income Codes.
Then I started to look in detail and learned that was wrong.
All these years and I don't think I have been asked to report on what is in Gross Pay. Don't get me started on NET Pay - that is another (what should be simple but is not) can of worms.
Ok, so it has been a long week so far, and I am likely making more of this than is needed, but I have reviewed the system Calculated field, written down all the values (I think) that are noted in the Calculated field and yet I can not get to the value present on the Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 (12.00.1801) out of the box Detailed Advice Slip - for Canadian Payroll.
Anyone got a simple solution - thanks.

I have the same question (0)Hi Bill,
Gross Wages are simply an employee's total income before taking taxes or deductions out. So if my employee had 1000 in regular pay, 200 in benefits, 400 in deductions and 55 in taxes, my Gross Wages are going to be 1200.
I would attempt to filter the CPY30160 and take a look at the line total where the payroll code type is 1 or 2 so income paycode or benefit, and that should give you a good idea where this number is coming from for gross wages.
select PLineTotal, PIncomeCode,* from CPY30160 where PPayrollCodeType in ('1','2') and PEmployeeID = 'XXXX'
Hope this helps!
