Dynamics 365 for Outlook issues

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hello

We finally managed to upgrade our CRM 2013 to CRM 2016 / Dynamics 365.

Now we found several issues in the Dynamics 365 outlook client:

  1. The SiteMap does not display any entity icons, there are just folder icons:
    8468.sitemap.PNG
I edited the sitemap in 2013 directly in the xml to add a new area. But in CRM 2013 worked everything.
--> Can I change the icons somehow?
  2. The icon of the new area added in 2013 displays the same icon in outlook as it is in the browser (it is big and transparent):
    Outlook: project.PNG
    Browser: projectbrowser.PNG
--> Can I change the icon so the small one will be displayed in the outlook client and the big one will be displayed in the browser?
  3. We are using the service management module as our support tool. A new email arrives correctly and creates a case. So when a new email with attachments arrives and we want to send a response to this email, we get two times a "not saved changes" message:
    7206.save.PNG
When we click OK, the email will be sent. This is only happening with emails which have attachments.
--> What can I do to change that? In 2013, this message did not appear.
  4. When I start Outlook, open the CRM Add-In the first time and open any area (like Cases or Accounts), the search ribbon opens:
    SearchCases.PNG
When I close the search and change the area, it opens directly the main ribbon.
--> How can I open directly the main ribbon?
  5. I am using the reading pane for all the areas, which is working very well except for the Cases:
    CasesReadingPane.PNG
I checked the setting in the form and there I can see Enable Reading Pane in Outlook is activated.
--> Any ideas why this is not working?

I hope someone can answer my questions. For me, it seems that the client is not "complete" and buggy...

Thank you!! :)

Best regards

Raphael
