FMLA

We use the FMLa tracking in HR. IT DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY. For example, we have an employee on FMLA for 10 weeks in 2009. Now in 2012, they go out on FMLA again. GP calculates that there FMLA will end in 2 weeks instead of 12 weeks. Has anyone else experienced this problem? How do you deal with it?

    RE: FMLA

I am having the same problem and my FMLA calendar is correct with Saturday and Sunday as down days, using a rolling calendar. My user date is current date. I enter return date of October 10th and I get aero hours in the information window and a message that says the employees will  have less than 40 hours as of September 28th. How can we fix the hours in the information window to be correct? This employee had no other instances of FMLA

    Re: FMLA

I found out some more details on this issue. If an employee takes a full 12 weeks on the first instance, than it renews the full 12 weeks after one year. For example, if FMLA is from 1/1/2011 to 3/25/2011 (84 days) then on 1/1/2012, it calculates an end date of 3/25/2012 which is correct.

However, if the first FMLA is from 1/1/2011 to 1/30/11 (30 days), then on 1/1/12, it calculates 2/23/2012 as the end date (54 days) which is incorrect.

We are on version GP2010, 11.0.1860, HR version 11.0.1807

    Re: FMLA

Thanks Terry for the reply. We have FMLA setup to use the rolling 12-month. Our company is open 24/7 with no off days, so that is how the calendar is setup. Is there something else that needs to be setup? It shouldn't compute that FMLA taken in 2009 affects the amount available in 2011. If you can help withthis that would be great!

    Re: FMLA

    Hi Bob,

This is Terry and I can help you today.

This is not common for FMLA tracking.  You will need to verify what your setup is at the is key to what the system will do, and remember this is all based on user date in GP.

You can go to Tools | Setup | HR | Benefits and Deductions and Benefit Preferences.  In here you will see your FMLA information and tracking if you have changed your FMLA calendar and down days it too will affect your calculation.

If you still cannot figure out the issue Bob, I would create a case for further investigation.

    Thanks
