How much data is used by the inventory records in GP?
Trying to understand how much data skus take up and which will help with how we should handle discontinued skus.

I can give you what ours is for comparison. We have just under 7600 sku's in the IV00101 (Item Master) table and it's only taking up about 6 MB of space. Granted, if you are just discontinuing items and they had price lists, item vendor information, item site info, etc, then there'd be more space involved not to mention all the history involved. Unless you are planning on removing all that. For example, our IV30300 (Item Transaction History Amounts) is upwards of 38 GB on it's own.

I am asking in regards to the master item information and how much disk space is taken up. We have brands in GP that we do not sell anymore and wanted to know how beneficial it would be to delete them out of the system. We are concerned about the future and how much data skus are taking up. We plan on adding a lot more skus this year.

Are you asking for just the master item information and how much disk space that is going to take up or are you asking in general across all the different inventory setups, transactions, history, etc?
